STEP-BY-STEP INSTALLATION
Preparation :
Clean the bicycle/component with water or mild alcohol if possible, to
remove any unwanted dirt/dust/grease for easy installation & achieve
optimum results.
ALWAYS READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST TO GET ACCUSTOMED TO THE
INSTALLATION :
|
Step 1 |
SOLUTION PREPARATION:-
Prepare a VERY MILD soap
solution (2ml drop to 1L ratio) into a bowl or spray bottle. |
|
Step 2 : |
PEELING & HANDLING:-
Always keep your fingers wet with solution to avoid fingerprint
marks. Peel off the appropriate RACEshield
from its backing, & dip it into the solution, or spray solution onto the
adhesive side while peeling.

|
|
|
(TIPS:- There might be a matte protective layer of film above
RACEshield. This layer enhances &
reduces any damage that might be caused onto
RACEshield during transportation & handling. It also acts as a
layer to reduce dirt from gathering during installation. IF PRESENT, IT MUST BE
REMOVED BEFORE installation.)

|
|
Step 3 : |
INSTALLATION ONTO
BICYCLE/COMPONENT:-
Slide
RACEshield gently onto the device/component, aligning it at the
same time

(Tips:- Spray onto device/component ONLY IF IT IS NOT ELECTRICALLY
POWERED. This provides easy adjustments & installation.)
|
|
Step 4 : |
SOLUTION REMOVAL:-
Start removing the excess solution/bubbles by gently pushing out
from the center towards the edges of RACEshield
with any firm plastic. A squeegue is recommended if available.

(If required to, the film can be stretched to remove fit
onto the product. You can
stretch on one end while holding the opposite end)
|
|
Step 5 : |
DRYING:-
Using a lint-free towel or similar cloth, soak up any excess
moisture by wiping AWAY FROM the RACEshield
edges.

(TIPS:- If you encounter edges that do not adhere, hold/press that
portion with your fingers/palms as human heat improves adhesion. A hair dryer at
COLD setting can be used to slowly blow dry it.)

|
Leave
it to dry for at least a day & viola! ... You bicycle/component is now shield'ed !!

STEP-BY-STEP FOR MAKING TEMPLATES/SHAPES :

Due to the numerous brands/makes/size of bicycle frames & related
components. there is no set way to do this but to template where you
want to shield yourself. We have found the most accurate way to do it,
is to make some templates from which you can then cut from the sheet of
film.
You will require 2 spray bottles. One with soapy solution(water and
washing up liquid) and one with clean fresh water.
- 2”~5" Masking tape (to make templates)
- Pencil or pen or marker
- Penknife or scissors. (as the film is tough, they must be really sharp
ones w/o rust, else you won't get clean lines!)
Apply the masking tape to the area of the bike you wish to protect.
Pencil out the exact shape you want onto the masking tape. Now peel off
the masking tape and apply it to the the backing cover on the sheet of
film. From here you can now accurately cut your desired shape from the
sheet of film (use a artknife for intricate shapes). When you have all
your required shapes cut out, please follow the step-by-step
installation instructions mentioned above:
ALWAYS READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST BEFORE MAKING TEMPLATES/SHAPES
ON YOUR FRAME :
|
Step 1 : |
Paste very low tack
masking tape on desired tube/areas to shield.
  |
|
Step 2 : |
Pencil out the "unwanted
portion" with thin marker.
  |
|
Step 3 : |

Lay it onto
RACEshield
& cut out the shapes following the penciled markings, using a small sharp
pen-knife or artknife. |
|
Step 4 : |
Symmetrical portions can
be flipped over & follow step 3 to reduce time. |
|
Step 5 : |
Install the cut out
shapes as per mention in the above "STEP-BY-STEP
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS". |
|
|
|
|
Step 6 : |
Leave
it to dry for at least 2~4hrs & viola! ... You bicycle is now shield'ed !!
